I remember my bridal shower as if it were yesterday. It was in May of 2000, and I had so many gifts to open I thought we would never go home. I received gifts I had registered for and gifts I hadn't. I received the "naughty" gift that my husband had snuck in with his mother. You can imagine my bright red face as I opened my riding crop and fuzzy red handcuffs! Everyone laughed, and yes, it was funny. As I continued on opening my gifts, I came across a beautifully wrapped present. It was a roaster, wrapped in clear celephane. Inside was multicolored tissue at the bottom, with a set of my dishes, sliverware and the most amazing and unique bridal shower gift I received that day. It was a handmade recipe scrapbook.

My future mother-in-law, Dana, had secretly contacted her female relatives. She then secretly contacted my mother, who secretly contacted my friends and female relatives. Do you get the idea this was all a secret? Just kidding...anyway, all of the female relatives on both sides and all of my female friends had donated 1 or 2 recipes to this amazing and unique bridal shower gift. There were even a couple of recipes from my dad!

Once the recipes were gathered, they were turned over to the person who would then create the recipe scrapbook. She copied all of the recipes, by hand, onto junior scrapbook size pages. She decorated and embellished the pages so they all looked individual, and all looked like mini scrapbook layouts.

This recipe scrapbook was THE HIT of my shower. From the time I opened it, it circulated around the room, and no one seemed to pay attention to anything once they had their hands on the handmade recipe scrapbook. All of my friends were looking through the book to find the recipes they had contributed, and just loved seeing their recipes put into a unique layout that will last forever.

I began creating these recipe scrapbooks for others when my mother-in-law found herself in a jam one day. She told us she needed another recipe scrapbook done for another bridal shower, but that the person who made mine doesn't make them anymore. So, out of the blue, my husband announces, "Carrie will do it for you, mom." So, I ended up making my first recipe scrapbook for my mother-in-law's niece. That book was the hit of her bridal shower, and I received another order from a guest at that shower. Turns out her son was getting married soon, and she wanted a recipe scrapbook for her future daughter-in-law.

I have since created 2 recipe scrapbooks for my mother-in-law for her own recipes, and am working on a third. I am also working on a recipe scrapbook for my sister-in-law as a graduation gift for her niece.

It happens over and over again...the recipe scrapbook is the hit of the party. Everyone wants to hold it, touch it and mostly, look at it slowly. They are so unique, and it is something most people have never seen before. Details
Each recipe page comes in it's own page protector, which keeps the recipe pages safe from spills. The size of the recipe pages are 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 - half of a standard size piece of paper. All recipes are inserted into a junior size white notebook. The notebook has clear plastic covers, so it is easy to clean off if you get ingredients on it while cooking (I have had to do that many times.)

Customize A Recipe Scrapbook.
I can customize any page you like in the recipe scrapbook. For example, a customer once wanted a page that was blue and orange to match the college her daughter-in-law went to. It is also great to customize the cover of the recipe scrapbook to match the kitchen of the recipient, or anything you may have in mind!

How Long Does it Take to Get My Recipe Scrapbook?
Please allow at least 4-5 weeks to have your recipe scrapbook completed and shipped to you. It may take more or less time to complete your order depending on how many recipes you want to include in your recipe scrapbook.

How Many Recipes Can I Have in the Recipe Scrapbook?
I recommend no more than 30-35 recipes per book. After that, the book begins to look over stuffed. I can create as many books as you need, so please do not feel you have to limit yourself to only 1 book of 35 recipes.

Pricing
$6.00 per page...not per recipe. (Extra long recipes may take more than one page.) This price includes the notebook and page protectors. The front cover is an additional $7.00. Some clients have chosen to start a recipe book months early, and purchase pages a few at a time. This is also a wonderful option if you are purchasing a recipe scrapbook for yourself.
